MVTA Board re-elects officers

The Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) Board of Directors elected officers for 2011 at its organizational meeting Jan. 26.

Will Branning, Dakota County commissioner for District 7, was re-elected chair.  Gary Hansen, Eagan City Council member, was re-elected vice chair.  Jane Victorey, Savage City Council member, was re-elected treasurer; and Wally Lyslo, at-large representative, was re-elected secretary.

Other returning members of the board include: Dan Kealey, Burnsville City Council member; William Droste, mayor of Rosemount; and Jon Ulrich, Scott County commissioner.

New board members are Clint Hooppaw, Apple Valley City Council member, replacing Sharon LaComb; and Joseph Zanmiller of Rosemount, at-large alternate commissioner, representing a rider.

The MVTA Board also adopted its meeting calendar for the year: Meetings will take place at 4:30 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month at the Burnsville Bus Garage, 11550 Rupp Drive, Burnsville.  The February meeting will be followed by MVTA’s annual Driver-of-the-Year ceremony.  Board agendas and packets are posted on the MVTA website at www.mvta.com/MVTA_Board.html.
