Lunch from the farm at Southview

Gary Pahl of Pahl’s Market visited Southview Elementary on September 12 to promote the locally grown fruits and vegetables being served for lunch in ISD 196. The district ordered and served about 14,000 pieces of corn in district schools on Monday. It was one of nine days in September that the school meal will include a locally-grown food item; in addition to corn on the cob, the others are zucchini, tomatoes, green beans, cucumbers, watermelon, squash, cantaloupe and green peppers.
