The Farmington School Board will soon swap one of its twice-monthly business meetings for a workshop format, board members determined Jan. 9.

During workshops board members delve deeper into issues and debate ideas.

At business meetings, there is discussion and presentations, however much of the debate has typically occurred at workshops.

The workshops, which could last three hours, are a better format to discuss the great changes the district is pursuing, members agreed.

Board Chair Tera Lee and Superintendent Jay Haugen will present dates and meeting options at the Jan. 23 meeting; the workshops are open to the public and likely will begin in February.
