Lakeville’s Dumb Criminal of the Week: Marijuana joyride ends with police sirens

By Tom Vonhof, Lakeville Chief of Police

Contrary to what you would think, people who are engaged in illegal activity often draw attention to themselves and subsequently attract the attention of the police, such as in this case.

Officer Rick Hakanson responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle driving around a residential neighborhood one night recently. A short time after arriving in the neighborhood, Hakanson located the suspicious vehicle. He stopped to investigate the vehicle and driver. He found that the driver was in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Hakanson seized the contraband and cited the driver for the violations.
