Farmington Royal Ambassador Program seeks’ Miss’ candidates

The planning for the 2012-2013 Farmington Royalty Coronation is underway. The committee is looking to add a few more “Miss” candidates to the program by extending the application deadline for the Miss category to end of day Saturday, March 17, 2012.

The 2012-2013 Miss Farmington will receive a $1,500.00 college scholarship along with a fully paid sponsorship into the 2013 Aquatennial Ambassador Organization Queen of the Lakes Scholarship Program. This opportunity could lead to additional scholarship monies and a once in a lifetime opportunity to represent Minnesota on a national level.

Miss Farmington Emilee Shearer and her Royal Court made more than 60 appearances since last June, which include Sparkle Night at the Twins, Anoka Halloween Parade, American Lung Association Fight for Air Climb, State Fair Parade, Special Olympics and many more events throughout Minnesota. This is a dramatic increase from previous years. The Ambassadors recognize the impact they are making due to the common question they are asked at most events, “Where is Farmington?” They have spent the year proudly educating our Minnesota neighbors near and far on the location and many wonderful merits of the Farmington, Castle Rock, Eureka and Empire.

Other changes to the Farmington Royalty program include the removal of the talent requirement. In keeping with the program’s objective to find great role models to represent the Farmington community, the talent requirement was replaced with an onstage question.

The age requirement for Miss Farmington candidates has changed to 17-20, ensuring the 2012-2013 Miss Farmington will meet the Aquatennial requirements. This change opens the program up to those first and second year college students who graduated from a local Farmington School and feel they would really like to enhance their future internship/career applications with a year of leadership/ambassador experience.

Additional information and applications can be found at www.farmingtonroyalty.com. Applications, once completed, should be emailed to chair@farmingtonroyalty.com.
