Dakota United drops PI final 7-2 to finish in 2nd place
Dakota United center Grayson Nicolay fires a shot past an Anoka-Hennepin defender in a 8-4 win in the semifinals of the 2012 PI Adapted Floor Hockey State Tournament at Bloomington Jefferson on March 17. The Hawks went on to face Robbinsdale/Hopkins/Mound/Westonka in the finals. Dakota United held the lead at 2-1 in the 1st period before the Robins took the lead for good in the 2nd period. Dakota United was in its tenth state championship appearance in the PI Division. The team’s last championship win came in 2006. Photos by Rick Orndorf
