Apple Valley neighborhood cleans up on Earth Day

As a way to celebrate Earth Day on Sunday, April 22, a group of neighborhood kids and their parents picked up trash at Wildwood Park on 137th Street in Apple Valley.

Neighborhood kids clean up Wildwood Park for Earth Day

The kids are part of a neighborhood group called “The Wild Things of Wildwood,” which formally adopted Wildwood Park through the city’s Adopt-A-Park program.

“The kids have a blast running around the park picking up trash,” said a neighborhood parent. “For the kids it is more of an adventure than a chore and it teaches them to take care of the environment.”
