Enough with the stadium threats
To the editor:
Is it just me, or are there others out there who are sick of hearing about the Vikings stadium?
At a time when some school districts have buildings in need of repair, and families don’t have money to pay for food or car repairs, Gov. Mark Dayton threatens us to build a stadium or lose the Vikings.
As an “old mother,” I know I learned if you put a baby in the playpen against that child’s wishes, the child will cry and scream to get out. If you wait and hold your own, the child will adjust to the toys within and quiet down and be happy with the situation.
As a taxpayer I say hogwash to Dayton. I don’t like his threats. Let the big time (and highly paid) sportsmen build their own stadiums throughout our USA.
Does the governor want a future generation of men in their 40s whose bodies are already suffering the effects of the rough sport, or does the governor want to plan a future generation of scientists, social workers, musicians, etc.
Think.

Plus, professional sports enjoy anti-trust immunity. Are you kidding me? Pro-Sports insists on additional public money when they have a legal monopoly? Time to pull the anti-trust status and let the free-market decide survivability. John Kline: Are you listening?
