Wendorf will receive Region 3AA honors

Burnsville High School’s Greg Wendorf will be presented with the 2012 Region 3AA Distinguished Service Award at the annual regional meeting on May 15 at the Southview Country Club in South St. Paul.

Wendorf has provided behind-the-scenes support for athletic events at Burnsville High School for the past 38 years as site manager. He manages every aspect of sporting events including ticket sales, scheduling referees, working lights and sound, etc.

Wendorf has worked about 88 games per year. He has phased out gradually as site manager and helped transition a successor. He kept his day job as the school district’s courier, delivering inter-office mail between 17 sites.
