Foundation 191 to hold garage sale to support school district
Foundation 191 will be participating in the Burnsville citywide garage sale Friday, May 18, and Saturday, May 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day
Proceeds from the sale at 13128 Court Place will go to support grants to ISD 191 schools.
The mission of Foundation 191, a 501(c)(3) corporation, is to enhance, enrich and expand educational opportunities within the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage school district. The foundation will offer grants up to $8,000 to selected projects for the 2012-2013 school year.
This marks the third year the Foundation has offered grants to the schools. Recipients for the 2011-2012 year included the Burnsville High School FIRST Robotics Team, a calculator lending library and the Bridges program at the high school, Empty Bowls for Full Bellies for Brain Power in a Back Pack, an English as a Second Language co-teaching class and a third grade Reader’s Theater at Edward Neill, History Day Club and Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies at Nicollet Junior High, a Maud Hart Lovelace Book Awards program, a parent involvement reading project at Sioux Trail and the EDGE summer program at M.W. Savage.
