Local students awarded scholarships
Four Lakeville seniors and two Farmington seniors were awarded $2,500 Discovery Scholarships from Flint Hills Resources.
Recipients included: Yaphet Getachew and Lewis Kunik, Lakeville North High School; Erik Provo and Megan Kilbride, Lakeville South High School; and Derek Anderson and Jack Buss, Farmington High School.
This is the 21st year Flint Hills has provided scholarships to college-bound local students pursuing careers in math and science.
The students were honored at a June 6 awards banquet at the Science Museum of Minnesota.
