Power line accident on Dew Days parade route traps 3 people

A semi-trailer truck from Our Family Foods clipped two power lines on 3rd Street, between Oak and Walnut Streets causing the lines to fall on the truck and trap three people inside the vehicle during the Dew Days Parade in Farmington. The truck was hauling water to give out along the parade route when the top of the trailer struck and pulled two live electric lines down on the truck ten minutes into the parade. Farmington Police and Fire cleared the spectators from the block and diverted the parade over to 4th Street. Xcel Energy cleared the power lines and released the three people from the truck once the parade was finished. Photos by Rick Orndorf
