Lightning takes lead in 2nd

Eastview pushed across the first run of its state Class AAA baseball championship game against Bemidji in the bottom of the second inning.

Evan DeCovich led off with a double to left-center, and E.J. Stevens was sent in as a courtesy runner. Stevens took third on Patrick Strey’s sacrifice bunt. After Chris Narum walked and stole second, Stevens scored on A.J. Stockwell’s grounder to short.

DeCovich, also Eastview’s starting pitcher, has allowed one hit and struck out four through two innings.
