Burnsville Fire Muster Medallion has been found

The Burnsville Fire Muster Medallion was found at about 6:30 p.m. today at Colonial Park in Burnsville.

An image of what this year’s medallion looks like.

The medallion was found by Burnsville residents for the past five years Tom and Kris Ferdinandt and their 7-month-old daughter Reagan.

They found it near the equipment box at the park that is located west of Interstate 35W and north of McAndrews Road.

Tom and Kris said they were very excited to find the medallion, though they weren’t exactly looking for it. Tom said they were on a geocaching scavenger hunt that led them to the park. When Kris found the medallion was when the excitement overflowed.

“It was dumb luck,” Tom said. “We tripped over it.”

Well, not exactly. The medallion was under the equipment box, so it did take some looking.

“Now we’re going to go out and buy a lottery ticket,” Tom said.
