Lakeville’s Dumb Criminal of the Week: What’s in a name?

By Tom Vonhof, Lakeville Police Chief

Officer Brad Wubben was on patrol when he noticed a vehicle suspiciously make a quick turn into a driveway, when the occupants saw his squad car.

Wubben stopped out with the vehicle and found that the driver did not have a valid driver’s license. Wubben also found that the passenger gave him a false name. When he asked the passenger how old he was, he said, “19…no 21.” When Wubben found the passenger’s real name, a computer check revealed that he had seven active arrest warrants (including three felony warrants) out for him from three counties. The passenger was placed under arrest and transported to the Dakota County Jail on the multiple arrest warrants and the additional charge of False Information to a Police Officer.
