Burnhaven Library events

Burnhaven Library, 1101 W. County Road 42, has planned the following activities. For more information, call (952) 891-0300.

• Burnhaven Book Group, 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16. The group will discuss “East of Eden” by John Steinbeck. New members are always welcome; registration is not required.

• Senior Scams – How to Protect Yourself, 10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19. Presented by elder law attorney Kris Maser.

• Stitch Up a Story, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23. Learn about pattern repetition, color theory and tessellation in design, and make a journal with a quilt square fabric cover. Presented by Jane Copes.

• Minnesota in the Movies, 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24. The film will be “Miracle,” a 2004 biographical sports film that recounts the story of Herb Brooks, the Minnesota coach hired to prepare the U.S. men’s ice hockey team to compete against the Soviets in the 1980 Winter Olympics.
