Family of Christ in Lakeville to Host Rev. Herbert Chilstrom
Herbert Chilstrom, first presiding bishop of the ELCA, will be at Family of Christ Lutheran Church in Lakeville on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 9:40 a.m.
Chilstrom will introduce his autobiography, “A Journey of Grace”, and share stories from the book, which traces his life story from birth until retirement as it intertwines with the church. It focuses primarily on the formation and early years of the ELCA.
He will also have with him the recently-released devotional book, “Every Morning New,” which he and his wife Corinne, also an ELCA pastor, have co-authored. They will sign books at the end of the hour. All proceeds from his books go to the program of New Testament studies at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. He will speak briefly at the 10:45 a.m. worship service, as well. The public is welcome.
