UPDATE: Woman, two of her grandchildren killed in Inver Grove Heights crash

A 70-year-old Inver Grove Heights woman and two of her grandchildren were killed on Friday after the car they were in collided with a School District 196 bus that was not carrying students at about 4 p.m., according to multiple news reports.

The Pioneer Press reported on Monday that the victims were Elaine Clausen, 70, Laela Shawel, 11, and Gion Clausen-Young, 4, all of Inver Grove Heights, according to Inver Grove Heights police.

The report said Clausen was driving a 1994 Oldsmobile four-door sedan when it collided head-on with the bus near the intersection of 77th Street West and Argenta Trail.

The bus driver Timothy Nelson, 54, of Eagan, was not injured.
