Fire devastates Apple Valley condo complex

A fire ravaged an Apple Valley condo complex Friday morning, injuring two people and significantly damaging eight units.

Firefighters responded to the condos on the 14800 block of Endicott Way, just northeast of the Pilot Knob Road-County Road 42 intersection, at about 8 a.m.

The four-alarm fire saw Apple Valley firefighters and fire crews from neighboring communities battling a fire that had spread to all three floors of the 16-unit complex.

An adult male resident of the condos was taken to the hospital to be treated for burns and smoke inhalation, officials said. A firefighter also was transported to the hospital after getting caught under a ceiling that caved in inside the complex; the firefighter’s injuries were reportedly non-life threatening.

The cause of the fire had not been determined as of noon Friday.
