Ironman bike ride moves from Lakeville
After 13 years, the Minnesota Ironman bike ride will move from Lakeville to the St. Croix River Valley in Washington County.
The event, scheduled for April 28, will allow bikers to travel from Afton north to Marine on St. Croix.
Jon Ridge, the event’s ride director, told Sun Thisweek riders wanted to enjoy new scenery and have new routes to try.
He said Lakeville has made them feel so welcome they stayed with the city three years longer than they normally do.
“We never felt a warmer welcome or had a better partnership than we did with Lakeville,” Ridge said.
