Each month of the school year, the Lakeville Rotary Club recognizes students of the senior class who demonstrate “Service Above Self.”
Christina Kyllo was nominated at Lakeville North High School as student of the month for December. Kyllo was chosen for her extracurricular involvement and strong academic record at North. She is also involved with activities and volunteer work outside of school. At North, Kyllo has been captain of the Mock Trial team for two years and has received an All-State Attorney award. She is the Student Council secretary, a rank captain in the LNHS marching band, and a member of National Honor Society. Kyllo is also a National Merit semifinalist. She has played the piano since second grade and recently coordinated a community blood drive with the American Red Cross. Her parents are Herman and Kitri Kyllo. Her dean is Dan McNulty.
Jacqueline Geerdes was nominated at Lakeville South High School as student of the month for December. Geerdes is a high-achieving academic scholar. She has demonstrated leadership in a variety of extracurricular activities such as Mock Trial, Spanish Club, Youth in Government, National Honor Society, and Cougar dance team. In addition, Geerdes served as a page in the Minnesota House of Representatives and as an advisor at the Minnesota Historical Society Teen Advisory Council. She plans a career in international law. Her parents are Neal and Janet Geerdes. Her dean is Dana Cronin.
