A Maplewood man is accused of robbing three people at gunpoint in Eagan.
Everett Jacobe-Kwunzell Durr, 21, was charged on Dec. 31 with second-degree aggravated robbery for a Dec. 30 incident.
According to the criminal complaint, Durr and another man approached three people outside an apartment complex on Greystone Drive, and Durr allegedly displayed a black handgun and told the victims to empty their pockets.
The two men allegedly took about $50 and a cellphone from the group and fled.
Police were notified of the incident. As they arrived at the scene, officers noticed an SUV driven by Durr speeding out of the apartment complex parking lot. Police pulled Durr over and found the stolen money and cell phone in the SUV, according to the complaint.
The victims identified Durr as the alleged robber and the passenger in his vehicle as Durr’s alleged accomplice.
Durr was arrested and denied knowing about a robbery during a police interview. Durr claimed he was at the complex to pick up the passenger in his vehicle.
Officers were unable to find any handguns in connection to the alleged robbery.
If convicted, Durr could face up to 15 years in prison.
