Man pleads guilty to raping young Eagan girl

A Minneapolis man faces up to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to raping a 5-year-old Eagan girl.
Dennis Michael Roy, 44, pleaded guilty in Dakota County Court on Jan. 22 to first-degree criminal sexual conduct for the abuse of his young relative.
The girl and her mother told police in April 2011 that Roy engaged in numerous sexual acts with the girl in 2007 when she was 5 years old.
Roy was arrested and charged in February 2012.
His sentencing hearing is 8:30 a.m. March 22 in Hastings. Roy faces a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison and a $40,000 fine.
Roy’s criminal record includes one felony, one gross misdemeanor and two misdemeanors, all for domestic assault.
