Battle of the chicken wings won by Burnsville police

Burnsville firefighters Isaac Carrier and Maggie Archer devoured chicken wings for a good cause Jan. 30. Burnsville firefighters and police officers held a benefit chicken wing-eating competition at the Hurricane Grill and Wings in Burnsville. The benefit helped raise funds for the families of Assistant Fire Chief Dan Hove, who is battling pancreatic cancer, and police officer Steve Adrian, whose wife — a former ALF Ambulance medic — has worsening multiple sclerosis. Adrian may need to retire early to give his wife 24-hour care. After a final wing count, the police were declared the winners in the wing-eating contest. Photos by Rick Orndorf
