TAGS South competes in the Dells

The TAGS South Level 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 teams competed in the Jan. 26-27 Wisconsin Dells Gymnastics Vacation Classic hosted by Netlynx Sports.

Level 7 team results: Uneven bars – Natalie Meyer of Lakeville, first place, 9.350; Indya Volk of Burnsville, second, 8.900; Grace Hill of Eagan, second, 8.650. Balance beam – Maria Kummer of Hastings, second, 9.500; Meyer, third, 9.300; Mackenzie Hughes of Red Wing, second, 9.150. Floor exercise – Hughes and Grace Hill, tied for first, 9.450; Meyer, first, 9.325. Vault – Hughes, second, 8.950; Andrea Holtz of Rosemount, third, 8.875; Meyer, second in her age group with an 8.850.

Meyer had the team’s highest All-Around score (36.825) to win the competition. Hill was the second-highest scorer with a 35.700 for second and Hughes earned third with a 35.625.

Also competing were Alex Barcus of Inver Grove Heights and Kaitlin O’Tool of Hastings. Overall, the Level 7 team won the balance beam, floor exercise and team titles.

Level 8 team results: Uneven bars – Taylor Thorberg of Farmington, 8.800; Talia Whitmore of Inver Grove Heights, 8.675; Sarah Wilken of Eagan, 8.525. Balance beam – Whitmore earned a 9.175 to win the event; Teagan Ramboldt of Eagan, 8.925; Sarah Wilken, 8.850. Floor exercise – Ramboldt, 8.975; Thorberg, 8.675; Whitmore, 8.500; and Shelby Neumann of Eagan, 8.500. Vault – Whitmore, 8.575; Thorberg, 8.400; Ramboldt, 8.200; Lauren Casey of Eagan, 8.200. All-Around – Whitmore earned a 34.925 for third place; Thorberg, 34.125; Ramboldt, 33.800.

Level 9 team results: Olivia Larson of Lakeville, 8.800 (fourth) on the uneven bars, 8.950 (fourth) on the balance beam, 8.100 on the floor exercise, 8.650 on the vault, and 34.500 to earn fourth place All-Around. Aspen Schrempp of Eagan, 7.100 on the uneven bars, 7.800 on the balance beam, 8.525 (fourth) on the floor exercise, 8.900 (third) on the vault, and 32.325 in the All-Around.

Level 10 team results: Hannah Wilken of Eagan scored a 9.000 to win floor exercise. She scored a 9.150 (second) on the vault, 8.475 (third) on the uneven bars, 8.525 (second) on the balance beam, and a 35.150 (second) in the All-Around. Caroline McCrady of Eagan was fourth on the floor exercise (8.300), fourth on the vault (8.750), 7.000 on the uneven bars, 7.425 on the balance beam, and 31.475 for third in the All-Around.

Devynn Saunders of Lakeville also won the competition in her age division with a 36.025. Her event scores were 8.950 (first) floor exercise, 9.050 (fourth) vault, 8.900 (third) uneven bars, and a 9.125 season high (first) balance beam. She also qualified to the Nastia Liukin Cup in Worcester, Mass., but was not eligible due the age restrictions of the competition. The Level 10 team came in second place.
