Community members invited to weigh in on superintendent candidates

Community members are invited to meet and evaluate the top two or three candidates (as yet undetermined) being considered as the next superintendent of Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191.

One-hour public input sessions will take place at 5 p.m. on April 9, 10 and 11, in the Senior Campus Commons, upper level, Diamondhead Education Center, 200 W. Burnsville Parkway, Burnsville.

At the community sessions, candidates will give a brief overview of themselves and then take questions from the audience. Those who attend will be asked to complete evaluations of each candidate which will be shared with the District 191 Board of Education.

Candidates can apply for the position until March 22. On April 1, the search firm School Exec Connect will present a slate of five or six semifinalists to the board. On April 2 and 3 beginning at 5:30 p.m., board members will interview the candidates at the Administrative Services Center, 100 River Ridge Court, Burnsville.

Two or three finalists will be selected to take part in all-day interviews on April 9, 10 or 11 that will include a tour of the district, followed by sessions with students, employees and the community. Each candidate will have an interview at 7:45 p.m. on their assigned day with the board at the Administrative Services Center.

Board members expect to make a final selection on April 11 and begin negotiating an employment contract. The new superintendent will join the district on July 1. More information is available at www.isd191.org by clicking on the “Superintendent Search” icon.
