District 191 Community Education will host the 12th summer Gifted & Talented Institute, which is provided through a partnership of south metro school districts. All students entering grades K-10 in September of 2013, who are either identified as gifted or exhibit a high talent or interest in an area, are welcome to participate.
Eagle Ridge Junior High in Savage serves as the main campus with some classes taking place at Kenwood Trail Middle School in Lakeville and the McColl Pond Environmental Learning Center in Savage.
Dates for the summer institute are June 17-21, June 24-28, July 8-12, July 15-19 and July 22-26. Classes are three hours in the morning or afternoon, or six-hour full day classes. Project K.I.D.S. School Age Care will offer care before and after classes for GTI students. There is a free hot lunch program and supervision available for all students participating in a full day of class.
