Hundreds of Lakeville area residents are expected to work at Lakeville South High School on May 10 to feed thousands of starving children in the developing world.
Through a partnership of the Lakeville South High School National Honor Society and Twin Cities-based Feed My Starving Children, volunteers are expected to prepare 114,000 meals at FMSC’s MobilePack event.
There were about 250 open volunteer slots as of Tuesday during the shifts of 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The shifts are filling fast, but people can go online at www.fundraising.fmsc.org/LakevilleSouthMobilePackMN to sign up.
Local residents can also support the event by making a donation.
Eagan-based Feed My Starving Children is a nonprofit Christian organization committed to feeding starving children.
The organization ships meals to nearly 70 countries around the world.
Each meal costs 22 cents to produce.
