Several Dew Days events planned for group participation

Farmington Dew Days is back for 2013 with all of its traditional favorites, including some new events from June 10-15.

Most of the happenings are centered around the downtown area, though some events are planned in other locations. For a full listing of events, click here.

Beer, Brats & Bingo

Beer, Brats & Bingo features exactly what its name implies from 5-10 p.m. Wednesday, June 12.

The party is held under the big tent downtown with plenty of food, drinks and bingo cards.

With bingo starting at 7 p.m., the first game prize is $200. All other games are $100 cash prizes except for the final $500 cover-all.

Players must play games 9 through 14 and have a Dew Days button to be eligible for the 15th cover-all game prize.  Door prizes will be drawn.

Flavors of Farmington

The Flavors of Farmington will be from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, June 13, under the big tent in the Beer Gardens.

Some of the vendors who will be participating are: B&B Pizza, Carbone’s Pizza and Sports Bar,  Fresh, Farmington Bakery, Long Branch/Gossips, Pizza Man and many more.

Car Cruise

The fourth annual Dew Days Car Cruise will be Friday, June 14, in downtown Farmington.

The cruise begins at 7 p.m. at the Dakota County Fairgrounds, 4008 220th St. W.

Each $5 cruise entry makes participants eligible to win door prizes, such as Minnesota Twins tickets.

Live music will be played by American Roadhouse at 8 p.m.

Judging will be done at the stage after the cruise and right before the live music starts.

Prizes will go to the cars with the best appearance, most unique and princesses choice.

Bed Race

The 30th Annual Dew Days Bed Races are scheduled at 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 14, in downtown Farmington.

The races are open to all businesses, organizations and neighborhood teams of up to 11 participants.

Costumes are encouraged for the bed rider.

Winning teams will be awarded Dairy Queen ice cream cakes for each winning participant.

The entry fee is $25.

Dew Run

The 2013 Dew Run will be Saturday, June 15, and start at the old Farmington City Hall, 325 Oak St.

The 1-mile race starts at 8 a.m.; the 1/2 mile Junior Jog at 8:15 a.m. and the 4-mile run at 8:30 a.m.

The Junior Jog is geared to all ages, but is especially for those who are 6 and under. Families are encouraged to give running a try with this jog.

Entry fees are: 1 and 4 mile: $17 and $23 after June 10; 1/2 mile Junior Jog: $3.

Bean Bags

The 2013 Dew Days Bean Bag Tournament starts at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 15, across from the Beer Garden.

The tourney pits two-person teams against each other, vying for a share of the entry fee pool.

Cost to participate is $20 per team in advance by picking up  form at Dairy Queen, or pay $25 on the day of tournament

The winning team will earn 40 percent of total entry fees. Second place earns 25 percent of pot, while third place will receive 15 percent.

Other prizes may also be given on day of tournament.
