Community Days return to Hampton

After a four-year absence, the city of Hampton is bringing back its popular Hampton Area Community Days.

Things will kick off on Friday, June 21, for those who want to have garage sales during the entire weekend. The Movie in the Park – “Yogi Bear” – starts at dusk and people are encouraged to bring their own picnic basket for a family picnic in the park. There will also be music, games, free popcorn and glow sticks for the movie. In the event of inclement weather, the movie will be shown at Hampton City Hall.

Saturday events will begin at 1 p.m. at Hampton City Hall with a Community Kiddie Parade. Residents and area individuals are encouraged to decorate their wagons, strollers, bikes, sneakers and proudly parade through town. There will be co-ed games for all ages, such as flag football and family-style kick ball. All games will be located at the Hampton Park. A talent show will be 4-6 p.m. The evening will conclude with an all-star jam session on the stage from 8 p.m. to midnight. All musicians are welcome.

On Sunday, June 23, the 50+ Men’s League will host a double header at Harold Doffing Baseball Field beginning at 1 p.m. The TC Angels team features the Rev. Stan Mader and will verse Crosstown Traffic.
