No injuries reported
No injuries were reported after a black single-engine Cessna airplane flipped over at the Airlake Airport in Lakeville Monday.
Witnesses said a student and instructor were in the plane when it flipped over during a landing attempt, coming to rest upside down at the edge of a runway.
The incident occurred at around 10 a.m., according to Greg Fries, on site manager for Metropolitan Airports Commission.
Pilots at the scene said it is not uncommon for that type of plane to flip upon landing.
The instructor and student were being interviewed by officials with the Federal Aviation Administration, and an official cause of the accident has not been determined, Fries said.
The weather was sunny and the runway was dry.
Lakeville police and fire also responded to the incident.
