Community grant project funds available

Rosemount-based Minnesota Energy Resources has created the “It’s Worth the Energy” grant opportunity worth up to $3,000. Organizations located and operating in the Minnesota Energy Resources’ service area can submit proposals for a project that betters the community in one of the following three areas: Environment, community or human services.

Eligible organizations must be 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations, operate in the areas of environment, community or human services, have an active social media presence on Facebook, have a cooperative attitude towards partnering with Minnesota Energy Resources and be in good standing with the local community.

Project proposals are due July 24. The top three projects, as selected by an independent panel of judges, will be voted on by followers of the Minnesota Energy Resources’ Facebook page. Voting will take place Sept. 3 through Oct. 1.

All three finalists will receive a grant – first place will receive $3,000; second, $2,000; and third, $1,000.
