Boy’s death a homicide, medical examiner says

Homicide caused the June 11 death of a 4-year-old Burnsville boy, the Hennepin County medical examiner announced July 25.

Keyontay Miller-Peterson, 31 Horizon Heights Road, died of complications from blunt force injuries to the abdomen, the medical examiner said.

The suspect in the case is 24-year-old William Alphonso Warr, Burnsville police have said. He was arrested near the scene shortly after paramedics responded to a call about the boy’s condition and arrived to find him dead.

Warr was arrested for violating a protection order that prohibited him from being at the boy’s residence, police said.

Warr was charged June 13 with felony violation of a protection order, felony criminal damage to property, fleeing a police officer – no vehicle, providing false information to police and driving after revocation.
