2013 Lakeville Art Festival

Gracie Mickschl, from Lakeville, got straight to the point of her contribution to the Lakeville Art Festival community art project on September 22.  This year’s project was an introduction to a painting technique called Pointillism that was developed by George Seurat in the late 1800’s.  Festival participants were helping to recreate Seurat’s best-known and largest painting, Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jette, using small dots of paint that when viewed from a distance will appear as solid forms.
