Lakeville City Administrator Steve Mielke received a “good” overall performance level after a review by the City Council.

Mayor Matt Little said the rating is one step below the top rating of “excellent.”

He said Mielke is “great under pressure” and has a strong track record of building consensus.

“He is good at team building,” Little said.

The review was a regularly scheduled event and does not trigger any compensation changes.

City Council Member Colleen LaBeau said Mielke has a passion for his position and the community of Lakeville and he looks out for taxpayer dollars.

She said that his review included a number of “excellent” categorical ratings.

Other attributes council members cited was his strong organizational abilities and communication skills.

Little refused to discuss any of the areas council had indicated could be improved.

“He’s one of the best in the state,” Little said.

Mielke has led the city since 2004, replacing Bob Erickson, who retired after 15 years as city administrator.
