Leroy M. Kehrer

Kehrer Leroy M. age 86 of Lakeville. LeRoy was born in Credit River, MN on April 28, 1927. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on October 10, 2013. LeRoy graduated from Lakeville High School in 1945. He served in the Army during the Korean War.
40253KehrerHe then went on to further his education at Minneapolis Transportation Law School. He was employed with Lakeville Motor Express and John Deere Co., where he retired after 31 years of employment. He was a member of the Lakeville Fire Department for 36 years, served on the Lakeville City Council, Lakeville School Board, All Saints Church Trustee, American Legion, and American Game Breeders Association. As a member of Knights of Columbus, he served as gambling manager for 20 years. He received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Lakeville High School in 2005. During his retirement he enjoyed: raising waterfowl and elk, bowling, playing euchre (with his favorite partner Kelly), hunting and fishing trips, but most of all spending time with his wife, children & many grandchildren.
He never forgot a face, started conversations with anyone and everyone, and took an interest in knowing people from all walks of life. Roys humble presence was welcomed at any gathering. He will always be remembered by the twinkle in his eye and infectious smile. LeRoy is survived by his wife of 59 years of marriage, Marge. Children: Jeff (Jodi), Katie (Jim) Ackerman, Julie (Scott) Mundy, Mary (Dave) Oldenburg, Wanda Kehrer, Paul (Val), Barb (Tom) Brezina, John (Shannon), 23 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and sister Kathleen Zweber. Preceded in death by parents Margaret and Albert Kehrer, son Michael, brothers Richard, Julian, and Jackie (infant). Visitation 3-8 PM, Monday, October 14th, at White Funeral Home, 20134 Kenwood Tr., Lakeville. Mass of Christian Burial 11AM, Tuesday, October 15th, and visitation one hour prior to Mass at All Saints Catholic Church, 19795 Holyoke Ave., Lakeville. Interment, All Saints Cemetery.
