VIDEO: 2013 KIDSPO: Kids & Family Expo in Eagan

An estimated 2,000 people attended the inaugural KIDSPO Kids & Family Expo on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at the Eagan Community Center.

The event, organized by Sun Thisweek, the Dakota County Tribune and Sun Current newspapers, offered entertainment, activities, food and much more as more than 60 exhibitors filled the Community Center along with a stage with entertainment and play areas.

The event featured stage entertainment by Apple Valley-based Heartbeat Studios; children’s authors Lynn Garthwaite and Lakeville’s Gordon Fredrickson; Eagan Fire Department personnel; Primrose School of Eagan and Lakeville; and Lakeville-based Twin Cities Ballet and Ballet Royale of Minnesota.

There were carnival games, inflatables, iDance, Studio Bodair of Lakeville’s crazy hair, Tiny Diva Princess Party face painting and The Works Museum of Bloomington’s engineering and art activities.

Kids Corner, sponsored by Sesame Street Live, had activities for young children and a costumed Elmo read a story every hour.

Planning for the KIDSPO 2014 is underway with vendor booth space and sponsorship available by contacting the newspaper’s Apple Valley office. Look for more about the 2014 event in future editions of Sun Thisweek and the Dakota County Tribune and online at SunThisweek.com.
