Rockie Lynne CD release
Country artist Rockie Lynne will celebrate the release of his “Radio Road” CD at an event Saturday, Feb. 8, at Bogart’s Place, 14917 Garrett Ave., Apple Valley.

Lynne will perform at an intimate, pre-show dinner with limited seating at 6 p.m. with a main show at 9 p.m.

Cost is $40 for the pre-show dinner, which includes admission and reserved seating to the main show as well as a special, acoustic performance by Lynne. Tickets to the pre-show dinner are available through Feb. 4 at

‘Tarzan’ musical in Lakeville
Children’s Castle Theater’s production of “Tarzan” continues this weekend, Jan. 24-25, at the Lakeville Area Arts Center.

Based on the Broadway musical of the same name, the show features a cast of 130 children and adults from Dakota County and surrounding communities.

Unconventional ‘Snow White’
Lakeville Area Community Education and Giant Step Children’s Theatre present “Snow White & the 7 or 8 Dwarfs” at 7 p.m. Fridays, Jan. 31, Feb. 7 and 14; 1:30 and 7 p.m. Saturdays, Feb. 1, 8 and 15; and 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17. Performances are at Lakeville North High School, 19600 Ipava Ave. W.

Art park builds new stage
Construction of a new stage for Family Fun Tuesdays at Caponi Art Park in Eagan will begin in 2014. Plans are for the new stage to be open for the 2015 season.

Summer dates announced
Caponi Art Park in Eagan has announced the dates and artists for its 2014 Summer Performance Series.

The family-friendly program features a variety of music, theater and dance concerts presented in the Theater in the Woods amphitheater.

This summer’s Sunday evening performances are:

June 8: Theatre Pro Rata presents “Twelfth Night.”

June 22: Minnesota Sinfonia.

July 6: Jawaahir Dance Company.

July 20: Dakota Valley Symphony Pops Orchestra and Chorus.

Bluegrass festival
Caponi Art Park in Eagan will present a bluegrass festival featuring The Okee Dokee Brothers, Monroe Crossing, Roe Family Singers, and Blackburn Trio on Sunday, Sept. 14.

This first-ever community celebration of music and fundraiser for the art park will begin with an open jam session at noon.

Geared for families and folks of all ages, the day will include food vendors and child-friendly activities. Ticket prices will be $20 with children 12 years of age and under admitted in for free.

Valentine’s special
NewBridge Theatre Company in Hastings is offering “Serenade and Sweets” at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14.

The event features candlelit private tables, sweets, and love songs sung by Faraway Road, an acoustic female vocal group.
