Summer Sensations 2014: Music in Kelley Park season starts June 6

The Music in Kelley Park season will include eight Friday night performances at the park, 6855 Fortino St., Apple Valley.

Each concert runs from 6 to 9 p.m. and will see vendors offering festival food such as burgers and brats along with wine and beer. As in past years, there will be free weekly drawings guests can enter to win a new bicycle or guitar.

June 6 – Dan Perry & Ice Cream, 60s/70s classic rock, blues, rhythm & blues, pop,  jazz, country, and originals, with special guests the Southview Singers directed by Greg Barnes from Southview Elementary.

June 13 – The Tasty Tones, eight-piece horn band offering dance and party music from artists such as James Brown, Tower of Power and Cee Lo Green.

June 20 – Jaybee and the Routine, funk, rhythm & blues, soul influenced by The Time, Prince, Janet Jackson and Mint Condition.

July 11 – Patty Peterson, winner of the Minnesota Music Award for best vocalist, will perform with Family & Friends, jazz.

July 18 – Michael Monroe, acoustic performer from the North Shore, with special guest Pat Mackin.

July 25 – The David Gonzalez Band, rhythm & blues and Latin music.

Aug. 1 – Steve Sullivan & the Factory, indie-blues-folk fusion.

Aug. 8 – T. Mychael Rambo, jazz.
