Six high-achieving juniors received Junior Book Awards from colleges during a ceremony at Burnsville High School on May 22.

They are: Sydney Botz, Yale University; Evan Fuller, University of Minnesota; Sam Johnson, Dartmouth College; Jasmine Lim, Harvard University; Tessa Nania, Wellesley College; and Lauren Warmka, Columbia University.

Students were selected based upon their academic accomplishments, school involvement and community service. Each student was presented with a book that is connected to the college in some way, often written by a professor or alumnus.

The Junior Book Awards don’t guarantee admission to the colleges but are meant to recognize the accomplishments of high school juniors and are a distinction on college applications.
