Weigh in on long-term vision for ‘Heart of the City’ in Burnsville

The city of Burnsville is in the process of updating its current long range Comprehensive Plan. Required by state law, these plans provide a road map for communities looking 20 years into the future.

The city will be hosting a public engagement session focusing on the long-term vision for Burnsville Heart of the City on Thursday, June 22, 5 – 6 p.m. at Ames Center, 12600 Nicollet Ave., Burnsville.

The HOC is likely to see more redevelopment, housing, added business opportunities and expanded park areas over the next 20 years. Future Orange Line bus rapid transit stations are also planned in this area (proposed just west of I-35W near Aldrich Avenue/Burnsville Parkway).

The public is invited to attend this engagement session to learn about some of the ideas that are emerging for the area, and share their thoughts about the future.

Concept plans will be on display and City Planners will be on hand to discuss the Comprehensive Plan process and the future vision for the HOC.
